Product development and 3D visualization

— for ambitious startups, tough founders, and serious companies

Get in touch

Industrial design and product development focused on what matters: form, function, and the path to market.

Have a product idea you believe can succeed? Not sure where to start? You are in the right place. Based in Oslo, we work with clients across Norway and internationally.

Start simple — with 3D modeling and visualization

Visualize your idea professionally with a 3D model, animation or video — explain the product clearly, test the concept, get inspired and make better decisions before you invest heavily.

Need more than visualization?

Design and development of a real product that solves a problem — from idea to prototype. Structured work in clear steps to reach production and launch faster.

  • concept development that clarifies direction, needs and problem-solving
  • a product development process that explores form, ergonomics, function, materials, manufacturing methods and many other aspects of the product
  • a realistic 1:1 prototype in simple materials that you can test before spending large sums

  • 3D model, visualization and a 1:1 prototype close to the final product

Are you a founder with an invention you want manufactured, or a strong idea you want to turn into a product? We can help with product idea development and product development — also without a heavy investor behind you. We support visual design for crowdfunding, investor pitches, funding applications and other financing paths. We are a flexible design studio in Oslo working with hardware startups.

FAQ

FAQ about product development

1. What does a design project cost?

Cost depends on complexity, scope and timeline. We set a clear plan with prioritized activities so you can start at the right level and scale further. See our pricing overview for a quick estimate.

2. How long does it take from idea to prototype?

A first prototype can often be developed in a few weeks, while a complete production path normally takes several phases. We clarify this at kickoff and often use prototyping and CAD modeling to reduce risk.

3. Do you only work with companies in Oslo?

No. We can meet and work with you in Oslo and nearby regions, and support the rest of Norway digitally with limited in-person sessions. Prototype shipping is possible but adds time and should be planned for.

4. Can you join a project that is already underway?

Yes. We can contribute as a specialist for parts of the journey or own a full phase — for example concept, design improvement, prototyping or CAD modeling.

5. What deliverables do we get along the way?

You get concrete deliverables: decision material, concepts, models, prototypes and recommendations, test results, technical drawings and a production plan. See examples on our project pages.

6. How do we start working together?

Send a short request via the form, or email hei@formaa.no. We start with an intro call, clarify goals and propose a practical first-phase setup. You can also read more about us first.

7. Do you work with hardware startups in Norway?

Yes. We regularly do product development for startups with physical products — from early idea to prototype and production prep. See our services.

8. Can you help me get an invention manufactured?

Yes, in most cases. We help structure product development, build a prototype and prepare technical documentation so you can move toward manufacturing. See our services overview.
